Please mark your calendar for the 2014 Tour on Sunday, May 4.

Visitors to 2013 Pass Christian Historical Society Tour of Homes had the rare chance to peek inside some of the “hidden gems” of our historic city. Nine lovely cottages and homes spanning more than 150 years will be featured on this year’s “Hidden Gems of Pass Christian” Tour.

This year’s homes will provide a century’s worth of examples of the classic Coastal cottage style, ranging from a meticulously restored 19th century cottage to a gorgeous example of the modern cottage, built in 2005.

All of the homes are within easy walking distance of each other, allowing visitors to explore this historic Pass Christian neighborhood. This year’s program will also provide a fascinating history of the area, which encompasses historic Seal Avenue, which was once nicknamed “Hog Alley.” Come find out the story behind this unusual name, as well as some history about the many historic cottages that line this street.

Homes on the 500 block of Second Street and Donlin Avenue will also be featured, as will 513 East Scenic Drive, the site of this year’s Tea, where guests will enjoy delicious refreshments provided by the Society’s members. Visitors will be able to tour this beautifully restored 19th century Scenic Drive home, and enjoy refreshments inside or on the inviting porch.
