This year’s Garden Party offered visitors an opportunity to enjoy both new and old coastal construction from the classic 1840s old creole style to modern modular construction methods.
The singular property that offers this unique mix is located at 701 East Scenic Drive. An impressive new interpretation of the coasts old vernacular style, the home was completed in 2015 and has seven glass-enclosed bays that reflect the coasts old style using contemporary building methods and requirements.
The lovely grounds also feature an important reminder of old Pass Christian: a small 1840s cottage that was described in an 1895 travel guide and remarked on for its old creole style.
This years event was held on Sunday, May 6, 2018, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to a tour of the home, cottage and grounds, guests enjoyed music and a delicious Tea provided by the members of the Historical Society.
